Most free theory test practice throws a random pile of questions at you and gives you a score at the end. A score on its own does not tell you what to study. This check does something narrower and more useful: it takes 28 questions, spreads them evenly across all 14 theory topics, and tells you which topics are costing you marks.

You answer 28 multiple-choice questions in one sitting. After each answer you see straight away whether you were right, along with the explanation for that question — you do not have to wait until the end.

Why two questions from each of the 14 topics

A random sample can miss whole topics. Spreading two questions across every topic means no topic is skipped, so the result points at areas rather than at luck. Two questions per topic is a first signal, not a verdict — it is enough to decide where to start, and not enough to prove anything about a topic on its own.

This is not a full DVSA test simulation

The real car theory test is 50 multiple-choice questions in 57 minutes, with a pass mark of 43 out of 50, plus a separate hazard perception video section. This 28-question check is shorter, untimed, and built to locate weak topics — not to reproduce test conditions. Use it to decide what to study, then practise under real conditions later.

Is it really free?

Yes. The 28-question check and your topic results are free, and no payment details are needed to take it. You do need a free account so your answers and results can be saved to you. Theorio also sells a paid Pro plan, but nothing in this check is behind it.

Where the questions come from

The questions are DVSA revision questions, used under licence, and the DVSA knowledge-and-understanding text is shown alongside each one. Theorio is a study product — it is not the test itself and is not an official DVSA app.
